Our Methodology

Data Collection

We collect hospital information from the following priority sources:

1. Hospital official websites (English/international department pages) — primary source for hospital information
2. JCI official accreditation list — for JCI accreditation status and year
3. Insurance company direct billing networks — for insurance × hospital direct billing relationships
4. Government health portals — for hospital grades and classifications
5. Google Maps — for ratings, review counts, and coordinates (third-party signal only)

Verification Process

Each record is assigned a last_verified date indicating when the information was last confirmed against its source. Records older than 180 days are flagged as "Outdated — verify directly" on the website.

Insurance Direct Billing

Insurance × hospital direct billing relationships are cross-referenced between two sources:

• The insurance company's published network list
• The hospital's published insurance list

When only one source is available, the record is marked needs_manual_review = true and relevant fields are set to "unknown."

Data Completeness Score

Each hospital record has a data_completeness_score (0–1) calculated as the ratio of non-null fields to total fields. This helps users gauge how comprehensive the data is.

Compliance

• We respect robots.txt and website terms of service
• We rate-limit our data collection (≥2 seconds per request per domain)
• We do not collect, store, or process personal/patient information
• We clearly label sponsored content and affiliate links
• We never provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations
• All insurer and hospital names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to identify them. This directory is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by these organizations.

We periodically re-verify records and update data. If you spot inaccurate information, please let us know via the contact form — we'll review and update promptly.
